From the first moment of the pandemic, our effort was to upgrade and adjust our procedures, in order to provide you with safety above all! And we made it.

Alongside our associates and the specialized public health scientific staff, we stood at the forefront of serving the hundreds of thousands of everyday people who trusted us in every part of Greece.

WHAT WE PLANNED

The planning and implementation of actions, in order to deal with the coronavirus pandemic holistically, was structured in four main axes and concerned the employees and consumers of our store network, the network of our suppliers in Greece and abroad, the employees of our headquarters, but also the help of our company in the work of the state.

PROTECTION OF OUR EMPLOYEES WORKING IN OUR STORES AND OUR CUSTOMERS

Consumers and employees of more than 450 Coffee Island stores are a priority for us. Thus, from the beginning of the pandemic and during the lockdown we made sure that our stores got guidance and timely information, as well as the online training of all employees for the proper rearrangement of the spaces, marking the maintenance of distances of 2 meters and taking all of the necessary measures. At the same time, we provided free protective equipment (gloves, masks, antiseptics, etc.) for our partners and their staff. At Coffee Island, we responsibly keep employees and associates of the branch network informed of all changes in legislation and implement additional measures to protect the health and safety of employees and consumers. Also, through a certified body and with our contribution, the Coffee Island stores received the Covid Shield certification.

Coffee Island is the first company in the coffee industry to receive the Covid Shield certification from TUV Austria and therefore guarantee the practical implementation of the measures and maximum security in all the procedures we have implemented in our stores, to prevent transmission and dispersion of Covid-19. Coffee Island stores are a daily destination for thousands of coffee lovers and we will remain safe and healthy to offer you the unique coffee, your favorite drinks and delicious snacks.

Through a process of inspections, it was certified that the network of Coffee Island stores faithfully follows the following procedures:

Takes all necessary measures, implements the appropriate procedures and the appropriate, by the competent authorities for the scientific community, practices to prevent the transmission of the virus.
Provides the tools and infrastructure needed to implement the procedures and practices.
It has properly trained staff and is constantly updating its staff training programs, in compliance with procedures and instructions.
Properly informs and guides all those who enter the premises of the company, to avoid the transmission and spread of the virus.

All this time, we strived to adapt in the best way possible to the covid era, first of all for you, but also for us, treating the situation as an unprecedented challenge for our coffee team! So thinking about your every need, but especially your love for coffee, we realized that we want you to feel that your favorite habit continues to be enjoyable and easily accessible for you and your loved ones!

The Take Away>>Skip the Line service gave a solution to those who do not want to Skip their coffee, but to receive their order without having to wait.
Coffee Mates, so you do not feel that you are far from those you love! It is unique to enjoy your coffee with your "mates". Only with 3 clicks, you can send the unique coffee and a delicious snack to whoever you want or even a special gift for their birthday or any special day.
Sending Grindery and Home Barista products by courier to areas where the shops were closed was an option so that you would not be deprived of the coffee you choose for a single day. But also to easily and quickly send unique gifts to those who are far away from you and do not have a Coffee Island store near them.
We sought contactless transactions for all online orders through coffeeisland.gr and My Coffee Island APP. But also the possibility to pay the tip of the delivery person through an online transaction, in order to limit the contact of the consumer and delivery worker with the money.

NETWORK OF SUPPLIERS IN GREECE & ABROAD

The support and care of our suppliers is a non-negotiable value for us. In this context, we decided to prepay the coffee suppliers in third countries in order to help our partners on the farms and to secure the quantities we need. In the battle with Covid-19 the coffee producing countries were and are still being tested to the maximum extent with significant human losses (eg Brazil).

INSTITUTIONS AND STATE

As in any difficult time, so now with a pandemic with significant implications on many levels, solidarity, support and unity are essential elements to be able to cope and manage the loss of our fellow human beings, the impact on the psychology of citizens and the collapse of human relations, the unbearable economic consequences - both immediate and long-term.

Coffee Island provided coffee products to the staff of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, as well as food and coffee to the Red Cross during the Easter period to support vulnerable groups and financially disadvantaged families. Finally, we strengthened the National Health System with sterile disposable medical t-shirts, wanting to support the extraordinary effort made daily by frontline workers, doctors and nurses.

OUR PEOPLE

Faithful to our values and with respect to people, from the beginning of this strange time until today, measures have been taken to ensure the safety of our employees and to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Thus, remote working was implemented for most of our employees, but we also increased additional hygiene and protection measures in the workplace, while the operation of the Production Units and the Supply Chain units was modified accordingly.
