OUR TRIP CONTINUES…
After exploring Ethiopia’s microfarms, we travelled deeper into Africa and found our new Coffee Island Microfarm’s Project, Burundi Rimiro. It will “shake” your taste buds with its aromas and “take you” to exotic places.
Our Coffee Grindery welcomes our 23rd microfarm coffee variety that will surely tempt you! At first sip you will say “WOW, YES! ” After a while, you will say “OH NO!”! Why? Because it is a limited edition and it won’t be in our stores for long.
The new Microfarm variety is a different kind of coffee that comes from the green hills of Burundi in the province of Kayanza. Its second name, Rimiro, comes from the processing station of the same name.
This area is renowned for the production of some of the best coffees in the country. Its altitude, rich volcanic soils and experienced growers are just a few of the qualities that make its’ coffee production stand out.
Panagiotis Konstantinopoulos, Coffee Explorer for Coffee Island, on a trip to coffee farms in 2018.
Burundi Rimiro is a 100% Specialty Arabica Red Bourbon coffee. This variety is known for the complexity and sweetness of its taste profile.
We can say it is an “elegant” coffee that, depending on the way it is prepared, gives notes of berries, dark chocolate and licorice.
You will experience a light – medium artisan roasted coffee with an aromatic and tasty profile, rich in fruity flavors and balanced acidity.
This coffee creates a unique velvety sensation, leaving you with a sweet aftertaste. It is definitely a taste experience not to be missed!
It belongs to the high – quality Bourbon variety, which was first cultivated in the 16th century. Burundi has many hills, which help to drain the land properly and enhance coffee production.
If you are a dedicated coffee explorer, do not miss this opportunity to try our new Microfarm Project coffee. It will be the highlight of your day! Make your order now through our website or by downloading the My Coffee Island APP.
