Having already entered spring and with the temperature rising by the day, the time has come to talk about cold natural tea.
It is what we call a tasty and easy twist on hot tea that we make at home and not a premade drink that comes in the form of powder that is filled with sugar, carbon dioxide and preservatives, with the trade name of ice rea. If you haven’t tried making cold tea, here are some of the reasons why you should.
Cold natural tea has a smooth and sweet taste. This occurs because cold water brings a different chemical balance to tea as opposed to warm water. In reality, this means that in the drink there are less catechins, tannins and caffeine. All these substances are bitter and the lack of them is makes the tea sweeter.
Preparation:
…and a recipe from the experts:
Cut one orange, two lemons and two limes in quarters. Rinse and tear up a small bunch of mint and basil. Measure 4 tsp. of green gunpowder tea. Place everything in the Hario FIB bottle and add 750 ml of water. Place in fridge for at least 4 hours. When it is consumed refill and place in fridge. In another 4 hours you will have another bottle of aromatic iced tea.
