It may sound simple but it\u2019s not! Green coffee neither has a taste nor an aroma, so for its rich flavor to emerge, it needs to be roasted! Additionally, depending on the <b>roasting degree<\/b> there are different flavors and aromas, in other words: its flavor profile.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5250\" src=\"https:\/\/www.coffeeisland.gr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/coffee_beans_inside_machine.jpg\" alt=\"Artisan roasting machine filled with coffee beans.\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>What is artisan roasting?<\/h2>\n<p>Testing, searching and precision. In other words, it is the roasting of <b>small amounts of coffee<\/b>, as the roaster seeks the <b>ideal rate of rise<\/b> in roasting, in order to extract the best flavor and aroma from every variety.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5248\" src=\"https:\/\/www.coffeeisland.gr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/artisian_roasting_process.jpg\" alt=\"A coffee professional touches the artisan roasting machine\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is by no means a machine-oriented automated process. <b>An experienced roaster<\/b> checks the roasting time and temperature, and by using all of his expertise, he offers us a unique flavorsome experience. It grows in a specific region from which it \u201cinherits\u201d a distinctive flavor and aroma. <strong>What are the factors leading to that<\/strong>? Of course, coffee does not belong to the perishable foods, but its scent is definitely <b>\u201csensitive\u201d<\/b> and can be spoiled. <b>Why is that bad?<\/b> Because when a coffee \u201cspoils\u201d, it loses its special flavor and turns bitter.<\/p>\n<p>However, <b>proper storing<\/b> can protect coffee from its enemies. The <b>bigger threat<\/b> of coffee is the environment itself and specifically, <b>oxygen<\/b>, <b>light<\/b>, <b>humidity<\/b>, <b>smells<\/b> and <b>high temperature<\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5256\" src=\"https:\/\/www.coffeeisland.gr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/coffee_packaging.jpg\" alt=\"Man sealing a coffee packaging in coffee island store\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At Coffee Island, coffee storing is made with a <b>specialized procedure<\/b> in packages with a non-return valve. <b>What does this mean<\/b>? It means that an<b> exit <\/b>for carbon dioxide is formed, without creating a <b>way-in<\/b> for oxygen.
