Coffee is a daily habit for many people, while at the same it is totally an affordable pleasure. It is our first thought in the morning, a good reason to meet with our friends as well as can be a very pleasant company. Coffee has discreetly invaded our lives by keeping us company in all our moments, good or bad, beautiful or ugly. But how much do we know about coffee? Let’s take a look at 10 things about coffee that we might have no knowledge of.<\/p>\n

  1. Coffee is an agricultural product.<\/strong> Coffee trees produce fruits called \u201ccherries\u201d. When harvesting the cherries, it is necessary to selectively pick only the ripe ones from the tree. Their color is usually bright red.<\/li>\n
  2. There are not so many calories in a Freddo Cappuccino. <\/strong>Coffee Island\u2019s Freddo Cappuccino with foam contains only 37 calories, while with cream 418 calories. Hence, there is a way to enjoy our Freddo without guilt.<\/li>\n
  3. Flat White originates from Oceania.<\/strong> But what is a Flat White? Basically, it’s a small cappuccino with stronger coffee flavour. It consists of double ristretto and froth (more steamed milk and less cream). It is served warm (60-65 degrees) with latte art on its surface<\/li>\n
  4. Coffee is stored in special containers. <\/strong>Coffee should always be consumed within a week. Therefore, we should always buy smaller quantity enough for one week, so as to keep our coffee fresh and with all its aromas. It is necessary to keep our coffee in special airtight container, in a shady place, away from herbs, spices, etc. Storing coffee in the fridge is absolutely prohibitive, as it will absorb all the aromas in the fridge.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. “Greek Freddo espresso” is a Greek patent.<\/strong> The coffee drink made up of two doses of espresso shaken with ice, consists the Greek version of the iced espresso. While the classic Italian Freddo espresso is espresso with ice or espresso that has been refrigerated.<\/li>\n
    2. Name with History for Cappuccino.<\/strong> The name came from the Capuchin order of monks and more specifically due to the white hood on their brown robes.<\/li>\n
    3. Coffee consumers tend to live longer.<\/strong> Research links moderate coffee consumption (about three to four cups a day) to longevity, plus lower risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and Parkinson\u2019s disease, according to Harvard Health Publishing<\/a>.<\/li>\n
    4. Americano is an espresso diluted with hot water.<\/strong> The result is one light espresso in both tension and body. Usually the ratio of espresso \/ water is 1: 4. To make an Americano, first we add water, then a single espresso and finally a bit of hot water (60 – 65 \u00b0 C). Long Black is another term for Americano, which comes from Australia-Asia. Americano was first made during World War II, by the Americans who were just simply throwing espresso in a glass of water.<\/li>\n
    5. 32nd place in coffee consumption.<\/strong> Greece is in the 32nd place on the list with the top coffee consuming countries. We are behind Latvia, while Finland is ranked 1st, and Sweden 2nd, according to relevant stats of November 2018.<\/li>\n
    6. Brazil: the largest coffee producer.<\/strong> Brazil has been the world\u2019s largest exporter of coffee for the last 100 years. It is followed by Vietnam, Colombia and Indonesia.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
